Brookwood Cemetery is the biggest in Europe and every November Remembrance Day is commemorated in an event organised by the Commonwealth War Graves Commission. This year’s ceremony at the Brookwood Military Memorials, less than a mile from Cowshot, was subdued because of Covid, but still very moving.
We are very close to the National Rifle Association at Bisley and some of our guests have arranged clay pigeon shooting days for themselves.
In addition to The Cricketers on the Green and The White Hart in Pirbright, we have The Nags Head at Knaphill and the Worplesdon Place Hotel, two miles away.
The reduction in cars on the roads because of Covid has led to a huge surge in wildlife acting like they own the countryside ! In addition to a huge variety of garden birds, we have seen more deer , badgers and foxes this year than ever before.. The deer ate many of our roses…
